Hi, @ jacare4

Jamaica Inn, Jamaica Inn,
they serve you RUM,
but never GIN.

But Cornish Gin, oh dear, oh dear,
is LOCAL !
Darum schmeckt er mir!!

(translation available 😁)

@lerge

Dear Lerge,

Very funny indeed. I admire your way of gin tasting, oh dear, oh dear.

Thank you for giving me a good time when reading your poetry. When we stayed at Jamaika Inn and it was about midnight, I got a terrible laughing fit. That has never happened again. Maybe it was due to the drinks we had.

Hi, dear 'jacaret' for 'Udo',
(I presume the 4 stands for 'for' ?? 😃)

We regularly drive past Jamaica Inn on our way out of and into Cornwall.

If you like "smuggling locations", you should try Prussia Cove. There you can laugh
as much and as loud as you like without a single drink !! and without being told off for unbecoming behaviour! Although there is a glorious orange drink as follows:

Prussia Cove

The King of Prussia's secret home
where ancient smugglers used to roam.
From Brittany, and further South,
they smuggled tasties for your mouth.
The best of them - and so say I -
was orange-coloured Cornouaille!!
And every one drank much toooo much.
The evidence, well proved as such,
is still quite visible. Oh shock!!
Just see the colour of the rock!!!!

💪😂😅💪
Und damit bye-bye,
Lerge

Dear Lerge,
i
No, the 4 in my nick doesn´t mean four. It doesn´t mean anything. Maybe there are four jacarés worldwide and I ´m number four in the Q. In normal life people just call me Udo. Is Lerge your real name? or just a nick? How come you live in Cornwall? You seem to be so familiar with everything in that corner of GB. One place I specially love is Tintagel with its old stone houses and the view of the sea deep down over the cliff.

It´s really too long that I haven´t travelled in England´s southwest. Thank you for telling me about Prussia Cove.and the orange coloured lichen on the rocks.

Udo

Tintagel and King Artus. There is a great story!

History and legend are inseparable at Tintagel. From about the 5th to the 7th century AD it was an important stronghold, and probably a residence of rulers of Cornwall. Many fragments of luxury pottery imported from the Mediterranean were left behind by those who lived here.

It was probably memories of this seat of Cornish kings that inspired the 12th-century writer Geoffrey of Monmouth to name it in his History of the Kings of Britain as the place where King Arthur was conceived, with the help of Merlin. At the same time, Cornish and Breton writers linked the love story of Tristan and Iseult with Tintagel.

In turn, these associations with legend led the hugely rich and ambitious Richard, Earl of Cornwall, to build a castle here in the 1230s. The site was of no military value – legend alone seems to have inspired him to build here. And long after the castle had fallen into decay, its mythical associations kept interest in Tintagel alive.

Hola Bruny
I don’t want to lose you here in this part of the forum :-)
I wonder if you have been in the mountains of Switzerland.
My mind still wants to get up up u p,
But my legs strike .
I do have some lovely places where I have been.
The furthest away I was is to get up on the Kilimanjaro. Maybe I find the words I wrote about that trek.
When we start off to go to Spain, I certainly will let you know. It will be around September or there about.
How cold is the water now around your area?
I went in in January and it was very cold. About 18 or 19 °
         Take care!

Hi yoli, unfortunately I have not been feeling very well, but getting better.
No, I Have not been hiking in the swiss mountains, but in the bavarian alps, in Austria and in the Sandia mountains in New Mexico.

I have been to the coast today in La Marina Playa. The water temperature there is 20°, in our pool we have 25°. So spring has arrived here in Spain, what we actually desperately need ist rain.

Saludos
Bruny
