Jetzt bin ich doch überrascht, dass du einen Text ins Forum stellst, dessen zweite Zeile offensichtlich die von der kommunistischen Partei regierte Sowjetunion anklagt. Das Album erschien 1979, die Sowjetunion begann 1979 mit dem Krieg in Afghanistan. Oder ist diese Parallele zufällig? Eher nein, sonst hättest du einen Punk-Rock ja nicht unter „internationaler Politik“ eingestellt.

Vielleicht erklärst du die Intention deines Beitrages?

Ich lache mich schlapp hobbyradler, was Du Dir da für eine aberwitzige Interpretation eines Punksongs erzerrt hast. LONDON CALLING beschreit (kein Schreibfehler) die bedrohende Atmosphäre des mit sozialen und politischen Problemen erfüllten Londons Ende der Siebziger: Arbeitslosigkeit, steigende Drogenopferzahlen, Rassismus und andere Spannungen, bei denen die Hauptstadt eine Art Brennpunkt der Endzeitstimmung darstellt.

Insofern ist der Text noch immer brandaktuell, da sich all diese sozialen Missstände seit der Thatcher extrem verschärft haben.

Nachdem ich jetzt etwas gegoogelt habe, verstehe ich warum diese Art der Musik mich nie begeisterte. Vielleicht ist das ein Generationenproblem?
