Ich weiß, dass ein Vergleich zu einzelnden Völkern, die auch von geplanten Massentötungen ihrer Menschen betroffen waren/sind, kaum möglich ist. Jedes ist einzigartig und rührt zu Tränen.
Die "Vergleichende Völkermordforschung", als deren Begründer der jüdische Arzt Raphael Lemkin gilt, versucht es trotzden - zur Früherkennung und Verhinderung von Völkermorden.

Im April 1994 begann in Ruanda ein Völkermord. Innerhalb von 100 Tagen wurden bis zu einer Million Tutsi (und gemäßigte Hutu) von Hutuangehörigen ermordet.
Der ruandische Popsender hetzte seine Hörer in dieser Zeit auf. Coole Moderationen, aktuelle Sportnachrichten und die neusten Hits wurden mit Hasspropaganda und gezielten Aufrufen zum Mord verbunden. Wenn die Hörer anriefen, wünschten sie sich Musik und denunzierten die Verstecke derjenigen, die als nächste zu Opfern werden sollten.

Das Hörspiel Hate Radio von Milo Rau, zeigt, dass Wörter töten können und es auch getan haben. RTLM und seine Mechanismen der Propaganda werden in diesem prämierten Hörspiel sichtbar.
