Before I looe these nice words I like to share them with you

Every single evening

As I'm lying here in bed
 This tiny little prayer
 Keeps running through my head.

  God bless all my family
 Wherever they may be,
Keep them warm and safe from harm
For they're so close to me.

And God, there is one more thing
I wish that you could do.
Hope you don't mind me asking,
 Bless my computer too.
Now I know that it's not normal
 To bless a mother board,

 But listen just a second
While I explain to you my Lord'.
You see, that little metal box
Holds more than odds & ends
 Inside those small compartments
Rest so many of my FRIENDS

And you know so much about them
By the kindness that they give
And this little scrap of metal
Takes me in to where they live.

By faith is how I know them
Much the same as I do you
We share in what life brings us
And from that our friendship grew.

  Please, take an extra minute
 From your duties up above
To bless those in my address book
That's filled with so much love!

Wherever else this prayer may reach
 To each and every friend,
Bless each and every mail box
And the person who hits Send.

   AMEN!

In about an hour we will pick up our eldest daughter from the fitness studio and go together to the wonderful Keramikcafé where we will sit down in most  pleasurable surroundings. The tastiest fresh home-made cakes and cream will be served and a mug of coffee with lots of milk, as I like it best. Hopefully there are not too many wasps eager to get their share.

This is a picture of the location taken earlier this year as you can see. Imagine how wonderful it will be this afternoon, with flowers, birdsong, sunshine and t-shirt temperature.

Poor Yoli, seems you are quite disappointed with our seldom contributions. Mind, it's not our mother-tongue, which means that one has to give serious thought to every subject you are talking/writing about. Well, good thing for ones memory - I like it - but not always. But with your help we will stick on. Rosemarie

Dear Yoli,

somehow all this weather up and down is causing problems for me. I just don't feel like writing anything. But you can rest assured that I am reading everything.

Till soon - hopefully

Hello, dear English speaking, thinking, writing, reading or understanding friends. You may be interested in what we did yesterday in the afternoon. We, that is my wife, our eldest daughter and me. We went to our favourite place, the Keramikcafé in Neu Duvenstedt for having coffee and lovely home-made tart.  We sat in the café´s garden with lots of big balls of  hortensia blooms behind us. The sun was not too hot, about 19 degrees. I had a mug of "Udo-coffee" and a slice of plum tart (Zwetschgenkuchen) with cream. Yummie. If you don´t know what "Udo-coffee" means, the friendly waitress knows. For me she serves decaf coffee with a big portion of cold milk. As they make the cups, mugs, pots, candleholders etc. in their own pottery, we are always very pleased to enjoy these things when we use them in that special surrounding.

Afterwards we went to pick some ripe blackberries There, sitting mostionless and therefore almost invisible we saw greenesh-yellow frogs (Laubfrösche) sitting on bramble leaves.

Hi @ yoli,

I had to smile when I read that you talk in English with your English daughter.
I use quite a bit of German when I talk to my English daughters.

When they were very young I stuck to English only, because that was their birth-language.
But when I switched into German one day, talking to our younger daughter, she looked at me in disbelief and said:
"don't make those silly noises ! "....

From then on I was determined to introduce them to German and Germany. Our regular visits
to my home, months of schooling in Germany whilst they stayed with my mother, and work
experience in Germany after their degrees enabled them to speak both languages well.
Our older daughter spent 8 years in Germany in her very first job and is absolutely fluent
in the language.

One thing I omitted however was, to make them learn 'Kernewek", because:
"Ow thaves hensa yw Almaynek" .....
😃....

And now, enjoy the rest of the evening.
Greetings to you and the other friends here in this thread,
Lerge

Hello Udo,
You had a wonderful afternoon surrounded by friendly  waitress and blooming hortensies, having good coffee out of handmade pottery with lovely plum tart - hmh...
And all that together with your daughter - that's surely the top!.

These days I am longing for my children - they are awfully busy with their home-office
and so I haven't seen either of them for 2 or 3 weeks! I do hope anxiously to see them before I go to hospital in 1 week.

Enjoy your family and have a good time - wish ou all the best!   Rosemarie

@Rose42

Dear Rosemarie, thank you for your answer. You are right, it´s such a wonderful feeling, when the children are near. For us this happens only once a year. They live and work in faraway places. They are busy, whereas we elderly have lots of time. Nevertheless we would love to have them near us more often, especially, when we have to undergo treatment in hospital. Dear Rosemarie, don´t worry. In their thoughts they will be with you. Today is such an enjoyable late summer afternoon. and it is Saturday. Tomorrow more sunshine.

Here are some flowers for you.

Thank you Udo for your sympathy!  Tomorrow our son will come for dinner - I lured him with stuffed pepper, which he loves. And besides that he likes it to be a help with my
computer-problems.
And if he can't help, it doesn't matter, because on Monday my specialist for PC will come and see to my problems, which are really big. I even suspect to need a new computer which must then have a big update. He will do it for me.
By the time I will get everything straight before I leave for hospital.

Thank you for the beautiful sun-flowers! Flowers always cheer me up!
Bye-bye Udo!       Love from Rosemarie
